GIBECK® HUMID-FLO® HME

GIBECK® HUMID-FLO® HME

The Ultimate in Patient Protection

A novel approach to ventilation management, the Gibeck® Humid-Flo® HME promotes best practices for VAP risk reduction. Built around this innovative product, the passive humidification kit can remain in-line for 72 hours even when aerosol treatments are given. (Data on file at Teleflex Medical.) Two operating modes, HME and AEROSOL, are enabled by a rotating collar. Select HME, and the Gibeck® Humid-Flo® will operate as a traditional Heat & Moisture Exchanger. Select AEROSOL, and the HME element is bypassed and a center passageway is exposed, allowing the delivery of aerosolized medication. The unique design of Humid-Flo®:

• Advances patient safety by reducing the frequency of ventilator circuit breaks. Studies have shown this reduces the risk for cross-contamination and VAP.1

• Maximizes clinical outcomes by eliminating the need to interrupt ventilation, allowing PEEP to be maintained

• Reduces potential of caregiver exposure to depressurizing circuits by reducing the frequency of ventilator circuit breaks.

The Gibeck® Humid-Flo® Passive Humidification Kit offers an integrated system that promotes best practices for VAP risk reduction. This comprehensive approach to care includes everything you need to begin passive humidification and minimize the risk to the patient and the clinician:

• Gibeck Humid Flo Heat & Moisture Exchanger: Exclusive 72 hour useful life reduces ventilator circuit breaks and extends HME change-out regimen as recommended by the CDC, AARC and SHEA

• SOFTFLEX™ Tube

• Dual-Spray MDI adaptor: Patented dual spray nozzle and universal port remain in-line, allowing for broad medication delivery with all MDI canisters

• Protective Ventilator Cover: Convenient ventilator set-up protection reduces the risk for component contamination

• In-Line Neb Tee™ with Valve

• Breathing Circuit

• Main Flow Bacterial/Viral Filter: Highly efficient inspiratory filtration for cross-contamination risk reduction to the patient with exclusive 72 hour useful life

• Iso-Gard® HEPA Light Filter: An extremely potent machine side filter with exclusive 72 hour useful life, HEPA Class 13 provides 99.99999% bacterial/99.9999% viral efficiency against the passage of common respiratory pathogens2
